South Gate Centre Proudly Presents Big Bandemic for Grand Unveiling Celebration

Woodstock, ON – Monday, September 15, 2025

South Gate Centre is thrilled to announce that Big Bandemic, one of Southwestern Ontario’s most exciting big band ensembles, will be headlining the Centre’s Grand Unveiling Celebration on Saturday, November 29, 2025. This special evening, entitled "In the Mood," is a celebration of the newly expanded and renovated South Gate Centre, now home to a stunning multi-purpose hall that promises to be a new cultural hub in the community.

Big Bandemic, a dynamic 17-piece big band based in Southwestern Ontario, formed in the early days following pandemic lockdowns with the goal of bringing joyful, high-calibre live music back to audiences hungry for connection and entertainment. Their repertoire spans swing-era favourites from Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington to modern arrangements with a twist. Known for their infectious energy and world-class musicianship, Big Bandemic has quickly become a fan favourite across Ontario for both listeners and dancers alike.

The show at South Gate Centre will feature this amazing band with two terrific crooners and a 10-piece strings section.

“We couldn’t imagine a better band to help us celebrate this exciting new chapter,” said Christine Cunningham, Executive Director of South Gate Centre. “This is more than just a concert—it’s a celebration of community, connection, and the return of vibrant live events to our space.”

The event will feature a high-energy concert with full table seating (reserved for up to 8 people - $500), concert seating (general admission - $50), and an open dance floor.

Guests can expect a licensed bar and a nostalgic night of timeless swing, jazz, and big band hits. Guests are also encouraged to wear formal or semi-formal attire. 1940's clothing styles or costumes encouraged. Dance floor. 19+ years of age.
