Volunteer Board Position
South Gate Centre, Woodstock’s “Centre of Excellence” in Adult Recreation, is seeking community-oriented and contagiously enthusiastic individuals for their Board of Directors.
​
South Gate is a non-profit, charitable organization promoting an active lifestyle; recreationally, physically, socially, mentally and educationally for ALL Adults 50+.
​
The ideal candidate will be an energetic forward thinker & will have several of the following qualifications:
​

Involved in community activities focused on the 50+ age group
-
Experience participating in a non-profit, charitable organization Board environment or a strong desire to do so
-
Academic credentials in general business
-
Wide network with broad sphere of influence
-
A willingness to assist the Centre in its efforts to obtain support through fundraising, community partnerships and grant proposals
-
Governance/Regulatory experience: identifying, managing and overseeing compliance issues, setting goals and strategic planning
-
Professional fundraising experience
-
A volunteer commitment for a 3-year term with availability to attend monthly Board Meetings
