South Gate Centre is a registered, non-profit charity, and a member of OACAO, providing fitness, health, social, recreational and leisure activities to persons 50 years of age and older. The services we provide improve the overall health and well-being of older persons, promote physical activity, reduce social isolation, reduce the incidence of elder abuse and victimization and enable older persons to live independent and dignified lives.
We work directly with and in the community we serve to provide affordable, accessible and appropriate services and activities that improve the lives of all older adults. South Gate Centre strives to ensure that our Board, Staff and Membership fully reflects the high level of cultural and ethnic diversity represented within our area.
The Centre is a membership organization led by a Board of Directors, all of whom are members and volunteers within the organization.
South Gate Centre relies on our group of dedicated volunteers to assist with many day to day functions, special events, and fundraisers. Volunteers are an important component allowing us to do many things that we normally would not be able to afford to do.
